Traditions

Things have changed a lot this year our old traditions of Christmas Eve at grandma and grandpas house have ended so we decided to start a new tradition.  Christmas Family night has all the same feelings as x-mas eve and we even added a singing time to end the night.  It was fun to have some extra guests this year... the missionaries.  Thanks for joining us this year.

A special gift.. to my dad Ron, and his siblings Eric, Paul and Lisa, I took my grandmothers clothes that they remember and I made a quilt for each of them. I had fun cutting up her clothes and sewing them back together after all quilting is one of my favorite memories from my grandma.  A treasured gift for them and me..

Apples for all

Every fall we have deer come to help with harvesting.  This year this mother and fawn have visited almost every day.  It's fun to see the deer eating apples.  There were plenty of apples to go around this year.  So far we have canned apple filling and apple butter. Made apple sauce, cider, pie, cakes and anything else we can think of.

Gone Elk Hunting

I went up hunting with the men for a few days.  We had rain most of the time I was there.  Of  course a trip is not complete unless you have some excitement.  Mikey's motor home got stuck in a mud hole and the transmission was acting up.  The only animals we saw where deer, grouse, a white mink like creature and the field mice running around in our motor home.  Apparently the deer knew this was not their season, they had no fear and continued grazing as we passed by.  I did manage to take a few pictures even though the weather was not cooperating.  As you can see the views are spectacular.

Andrea's Baby Shower

Again I am slow the shower was in August.
Here is the quilt I made for the baby. It is reversible and all the fabric used was from grandma cleavers stash.

Aunt Cherise, Grammy Liz, and Nadia
And here is Nadia claiming all the clothes...
